Soukoulis and his team win the EU Descartes Prize 2005

Congratulations to Costas Soukoulis
and his team for winning the prestigious EU Descartes Prize for Excellence in Scientific Collaborative Research on December 2, 2005. The EXEL (DALHM) team will receive 200,000 Euros for "developing a new class of artificial meta-materials, called Left-Handed Materials or Negative Index Materials, which have the ability to overturn many familiar properties of light" (http://europa.eu.int/comm/research/descartes/).
